Tesla CEO Elon Musk Talks Possible Cooperation & Investment with Prime Minister of Mongolia

Elon Musk discussed possible cooperation and investment with the Prime Minister of Mongolia during a virtual meeting. The country, which is rich in elements needed for battery production, can benefit the global development of EVs.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Mongolian Prime Minister L. Oyun-Erdene met during a virtual meeting on Tuesday. They discussed potential investment in the country, the company's educational assistance, and cooperation in the electric vehicle sector, according to a statement released by the Mongolian government. In addition, L. Oyun-Erdene himself announced the meeting and its topics on Twitter, writing that it was a productive discussion.

Musk and the Mongolian government discussed a potential joint research venture to use rare earth and minerals for batteries. The resource-rich country has vast deposits of rare earth minerals and copper, which are important materials in the electric vehicle supply chain.

In addition to cooperation in the field of electric vehicles, Mongolia and Musk discussed possible partnerships in the field of education. In particular, it was about providing internships for talented Mongolian engineers at Tesla.
