Poland delivers ‘one of the biggest shipments ever’ of SpaceX Starlink user terminals to Ukraine, says Mykhailo Fedorov

On December 30, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov shared that the country of Poland delivered “one of the biggest shipments ever” of SpaceX Starlink user terminals to Ukraine. He did not specify the amount of Starlink kits they received, just shared a video of a warehouse full of SpaceX-branded boxes and said that more are on the way. The shipment comes after Fedorov told reporters on December 21st that the European Union would purchase at least 10,000 Starlink user antennas to support the county’s effort to maintain a robust communication system to keep civilians safe through the ongoing Russia invasion, as previously reported by TESMANIAN. The Starlink Kits include all the hardware necessary to access SpaceX’s Starlink broadband satellite constellation.

“Today we received one of the biggest shipments of Starlinks ever during a full-scale invasion. This is just the first batch and we will receive more Starlinks in the coming weeks,” said Fedorov in Ukrainian language [quotes were translated to English by TESMANIAN journalist Eva Fox]. “I want to thank our Polish colleagues, with the help of who we purchased these Starlinks. I thank the Prime Minister of Poland, Mateusz Morawiecki, I thank my digital colleague from Poland, Janusz Cieszyński, and also thank the National Institute of Telecommunications of Poland and Orlen. Thank you!” he said in the video message, linked below.

“This is one of the largest batches in general for these 10 months, and these Starlinks will primarily go to Unbreakable Points, in order to ensure constant communication of all citizens of Ukraine during blackouts. And, secondly, we will help critical energy infrastructure, the medical infrastructure, and the civilian sectors. And, I'm thankful that we have the ability to use satellite communication during a full-scale war. This is our competitive advantage,” said Fedorov. “I thank all partners who are working on it and helping us. We will continue to communicate with SpaceX, we will continue to do everything to ensure that our military and our civilian sector receive Starlinks and that we bring our victory closer every day. Thank you all for your support. Glory to Ukraine!” he said.
