Tesla Giga Berlin is the largest training company in Brandenburg, Germany. The factory is doubling the number of trainees, expanding opportunities for young people.

Since last year, about 120 apprentices and students have been working at Tesla Giga Berlin. This makes the factory the largest training company in Brandenburg. Tesla wants to accept 180 more apprentices and dual students in September. It is reported that there is a lack of trainees in the region, but this is not a problem for Tesla.

“For a number of years we have had more training places than young people,” said Jochem Freyer from an employment agency in Frankfurt an der Oder, according to rbb24. Because of this, car companies including Tesla invited young people to an information event at the Frankfurt Career Center on Tuesday. They showed a particular interest in working for Tesla.

“In my opinion, Tesla production is particularly sustainable and thus protecting our planet,” Leon, 17, said. He wants to become an automation engineer at Tesla and has already applied.

Benjamin, who is also 17 years old, graduated from high school in Saxony and is now preparing to study at the Higher Educational Institution in Frankfurt an der Oder. According to him, Tesla is very future-oriented. That is why he wants to train at Tesla to be a systems integrator computer scientist or an industrial clerk. He, too, has already uploaded his application to Tesla's website and is currently awaiting a response, he said.

According to a Tesla recruiter at the information event, almost all apprenticeship spots are already filled. The number of applicants for an apprenticeship at Tesla is large. However, the company said young people can continue to apply and will be able to make places for “particularly good offers.” In total, 10 to 20 percent of posts remain vacant.

Approximately 120 of the 180 new employees will be trained through apprenticeships. For the remaining 60 positions, Tesla would like to recruit students in dual courses, such as business administration, automation technology, and computer science. To this end, the company cooperates in particular with the Wildau University of Technology and the Berlin School of Economics and Law.

Tesla recruiters said the company has no problem finding enough apprentices and students. “Tesla shines as an employer and as a brand, especially in the urban and migrant environment in Berlin,” said Freyer.
