GRIDSERVE analyzed consumer behavior from around the world to determine which electric vehicles are generating the most interest and where. In terms of total internet searches between July and December 2022, Tesla Model 3 is the overall winner. GRIDSERVE reported that last year, Tesla Model 3 received 19,989,872 search queries, which placed it comfortably in first place.

However, other Tesla vehicles are also on the list, which is not surprising. While Kia EV6 is in second place with 15,815,185 searches, Tesla Model Y is third. Model 3 was searched 17,654,842 times on these continents alone.

South American motorists are most interested in Porsche Taycan, which received 884,310 requests. However, Tesla Model 3, Model S, and Model X come in at numbers two, three, and four.

Tesla Model 3 also dominates the US. The electric sedan is generating the most interest in 41 states. Its popularity even extends to Hawaii. In addition, the study showed that Model 3 is the most popular electric car in every city in the UK, despite the fact that Tesla Model Y is the best-selling one there. In fact, Tesla accounts for four of the ten most popular electric car models in the UK. Model 3 had 416,620 searches, the best-selling Model Y is in second place with 364,910 searches, followed by Model X (235,010 searches) and Model S (227,420) in seventh and eighth places, respectively.
