Tesla Model Y became Sweden's best-selling car in June 2022, beating its polluting competitors. Sales figures were 49% higher than the nearest competitor.

Despite significant difficulties in Q2 2022, Tesla still achieved high success in Europe. Its Model Y and Model 3 were the best-selling electric vehicles in June in several countries. The more sales data we get, the more we learn about the success of the manufacturer's vehicles. It was recently revealed that Model Y became the best-selling car in Norway in June, where EVs took 78.7% of the market share. In addition, the vehicle became the best-selling electric car in Sweden. However, sales figures for all cars in the country, not just EVs, are now available, and Model Y's success appears to be far greater than only in the EV market.

According to Mobility Sweden, Tesla Model Y was the best-selling car in June in Sweden, well ahead of its rivals, including polluting vehicles. In a month, 1,876 units were sold, which guaranteed its success. This number of sales is 49% higher than the nearest competitor Kia Ceed with 1,257 units. In third place is Volvo with 1,243 XC60s sold. Kia Niro, with 809 units, came in fourth. In fifth place is VW ID.4 with 759 units.

The share of electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids was 55% in June, with electric vehicles accounting for about 32% of new registrations. Thus, electric vehicles account for about 28% of registrations in 2022. Sweden has adjusted the incentive for the purchase of electric vehicles, which will start working in July, making EVs even more attractive to consumers.
