Tesla Model 3 became the best-selling EV in Switzerland in Q2 2022 despite selling less than 1% of the total during the first two months of the quarter. Tesla Model Y is slightly behind in second place, leaving not even a ghostly chance of victory for other models of electric vehicles.
Despite Tesla's relative weakness in Q2 due to a 3-week production shutdown at Giga Shanghai, the company has not ceased to impress with sales results in June and in Q2 2022. In a number of countries where sales data for June has already been received, Tesla Model Y or Tesla Model 3 became the best-selling electric vehicle. The sales figures from Switzerland were even more encouraging, as here the manufacturer had a special power.
According to EU-EVs, Tesla Model 3 was the top-selling EV in June with 1,139 units sold. It was followed by Tesla Model Y with 819 units. Thus, Tesla led the EV market with a 42.8% market share, significantly outperforming any other brand. In third place was the Skoda Enyaq with a modest 240 sales. Fourth place belongs to Seat Born with 194 registered sales. Closing out the top 5 is Volkswagen with its sales of 173 ID.4s.
More notable are the sales figures for the entire Q2. Here, Tesla again demonstrated excellence. Despite the modest first two months of sales at just 10 units, Tesla Model 3 still became the best-selling EV in the country. Thanks to strong sales in June, 1,149 Model 3s were registered in Q2 2022. In second place, with a small lag, is Tesla Model Y with 1,121 sales. Sales of these two models brought Tesla a 23.9% market share. In third place is Skoda Enyaq with 452 units sold, well behind any of Tesla's models. Fourth place went to Seat Born with 418 registered sales. Closing out the top 5 is Fiat 500E with 415 units sold.
