November 5th 2020, Tesmanian discovered that Tesla Gigafactory Shanghai (China) has recently submitted applications to China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) for the upcoming China-made Model Y production approval.

MIC Model Y now with the Tesla Chinese characters "特斯拉" badge on the left.

Based on the public application to MIIT, the newly China-made Tesla Model Y will use TSL6480BEVBA0 as the product/model number. Production location will be "No. 5000 Jiangshan Road, Pudong New Area, Shanghai, China," which is Tesla Gigafactory Shanghai.

Weight : 2415 KG

Wheelbase: 2890 mm

As Tesmanian reported on September 30, Tesla Giga Shanghai Will Increase to 3 Shifts After Chinese National Holiday, it seems the Tesla China team is now well prepared for the next production ramp at Giga Shanghai with the MIC Model Y.
