Tesla brings in a top executive from China to ramp up production at Giga Texas, according to a report. Tom Zhu is an experienced executive with an excellent track record, which has led Giga Shanghai to achieve very high production figures in a very short time.

One of Tesla's top executives in China, who oversaw the construction of the Shanghai plant and is responsible for its success, has come to the US to help ramp up production at Giga Texas, sources told Bloomberg. Tom Zhu joined Tesla in 2014 to help build the Supercharger network. After that, he led the manufacturer's operations in the Asia-Pacific region. This week, Zhu, along with an engineering team from Giga Shanghai, is in Austin to help oversee the ramp-up. It is reportedly unknown how long he and the team will be in Austin.

On November 1, a rumor surfaced that Tesla would send Giga Shanghai employees—specifically automation and control engineers—to assist in efforts to increase production at its Fremont factory, in California, US. It is not known at this time if this is the same team and just the wrong location was indicated in that report, or if the company sent two teams from China to help out at both of its American car factories.

Elon Musk has repeatedly pointed out the exceptional professionalism of the Chinese team. He emphasized that they work almost independently, prioritize tasks on their own, and lead the development of business in the region according to them. The success of Giga Shanghai is the best demonstration of the team's achievements and hard work.
