Tesla has announced the opening of over 1,200 Supercharger stations in mainland China. Providing more than 8,700 stalls, the manufacturer's proprietary charging network covers more than 370 cities.
Tesla China, in its Q2 2022 global production and delivery report, revealed that it has opened more than 1,200 Supercharger stations in mainland China to date. All of them offer a total capacity of more than 8,700 stalls. Tesla's charging network in mainland China covers 370 cities and regions, in order to make owning Tesla's vehicles as convenient as possible. In addition to daily use, Superchargers are positioned to make traveling across the country easy. In addition, Tesla says it has over 700 destination charging stations on the Chinese mainland, offering more than 1,800 chargers.
In mid-January 2022, Tesla announced that it had opened over 1,000 Supercharger stations in mainland China to that date, offering over 8,000 stalls. This means that in the first half of this year, the manufacturer opened about 200 new locations with about 700 stalls, which demonstrates the rapid pace of deployment.
Although the pace of production in Q2 2022 was significantly reduced due to the COVID-19 lockdown, Giga Shanghai intends to increase production significantly in the future. The factory is reportedly now partly closed to expand production lines. This means that the Chinese market will be more actively saturated with Tesla vehicles, so the growth of the Supercharger network is a must.
