Tesla continues to increase its share of the Swiss car market by supplying Model 3 and Model Y. The manufacturer's two models became the best-selling EV models in Switzerland in November 2021, while Model 3 topped the list of the best-selling EVs for all 11 months.
The Swiss increasingly began to give their preference to Tesla cars. While the manufacturer previously offered only Model 3 for sale, the first deliveries of Model Y began three months ago. In November, both Tesla models proved themselves to be on the best side, having received the sympathy of a large number of Swiss.
Tesla Model 3 became the best-selling EV in Switzerland last month, registering 463 units, which brings it first place, according to EU-EVs data. The sedan from the American manufacturer is followed by its compact crossover, Model Y, which has registered 360 units. As in other European markets, Model Y has generated a lot of consumer interest and SUV deliveries continue to gain momentum. Total sales of the two Tesla models brought the manufacturer a 22.1% market share in November.
Third place was taken by Skoda ENYAQ with 353 registrations, slightly increasing its performance compared to the previous month. Fourth place belongs to Hyundai Ionic 5 with 137 registrations. Closing out the top five is Renault Zoe by a small margin behind Ionic 5, registering 134 units.
The list of leaders for 11 months of 2021 now looks different, as the sales of Tesla Model Y have shifted the picture. The undoubted sales leader remains Tesla Model 3 with 3,969 registrations. 1,716 units behind is Volkswagen ID.3 with 2,253. Model Y is in seventh place with 1,079 registrations, just slightly behind Volkswagen ID.4 with 1,115 units, which was sold in Switzerland all 11 months of this year. This is a very good result considering that Model Y has only been sold in Switzerland for the last three months.
