Tesla begins deliveries of refreshed Model S and Model X to mainland China. Although the original delivery date was scheduled for Q2 2023, the company may have a pleasant surprise for some of its customers. Perhaps some of the arrived cars will be delivered in Q1.

Tesla has begun deliveries of the new Model S and Model X vehicles, including Plaid, to mainland China, as announced on its Twitter account. This comes almost two years after the company started its first deliveries to customers, which took place in the US. The event came as quite a surprise as the earliest delivery date for cars in China was set for Q2 2023. However, judging by the video posted by Tesla, the vehicles have just arrived in the country and may not be ready to be delivered to the first customers in Q1 2023. This would mean that they will be delivered in early Q2, to meet the timeline indicated on the manufacturer’s website.

The video shows that not just a few Model S and Model X cars have arrived in China, but a large number of them. The flight of the drone over part of the cars parked near the ship showed that there are hundreds of them. This indicates that a truly massive delivery of the long-awaited Model S and Model X to customers in China is expected.

Tesla Model S is available in China in two versions: a basic version with two motors and a Plaid version with three motors. Model S starts at RMB 789,900 (about $114,730) and Model S Plaid starts at RMB 1,009,900 (about $146,680).

Model X is also available in China in two versions: a basic version with two motors and a Plaid version with three motors. Model X starts at RMB 879,900 (about $127,800) and Model X Plaid starts at RMB 1,039,900 (about $151,030).
