  • Tesla may be preparing a sports variant of the Model 3, which will likely be rolled out as part of a Performance version.
  • The car will be equipped with new sports seats, as shown in the findings.

The rumor that Tesla is preparing to release a sportier version of the updated Model 3 appeared some time ago. For now, the company has only introduced the base version and the Long Range, while remaining silent about the Performance. This suggests that some special version is being prepared for release, at first in North America. While the updated Model 3 has been unveiled and first deliveries have already begun in Europe, a test mule with a covered front and rear was again spotted in the US. Company management also declined to answer about US delivery times for the updated sedan during the Q3 2023 earnings call.

Now, hacker @greentheonly/X, who is known for revealing information about Tesla cars, has discovered an interesting feature of the updated Model 3. He said that the manufacturer will have Base and Sport versions. At the same time, the Sport version “will have different front seats with reinforced side support and headrests.” The hacker also attached images he discovered.

Finding the Sport version of the updated Model 3 is an additional piece of the puzzle. Recently, Tesla published an updated Parts Catalog and Collision Repair Manuals, which contained interesting images. One of them showed Model 3 with the same badge as Model S and X Plaid, although these images were later removed. This attracted a lot of public attention. There have been suggestions that Model 3 Plaid (or something similar) could replace Performance.
