The explosive growth in the popularity of Tesla cars obliges the manufacturer to develop its charging network. The company announced plans to triple the size of its Supercharger network over the next two years to enhance the car ownership experience.

Tesla is the only car manufacturer that provides its customers with its own wide network of charging stations. This is an important competitive advantage that often plays a decisive role when customers are looking to buy an electric vehicle. Tesla is actively working to expand the Supercharger network, and has announced an increase in efforts to this effect.

During Tesla's Q3 2021 Earnings Call, Drew Baglino, SVP, Powertrain and Energy Engineering at Tesla, said the company is actively working to monitor charging station utilization and plans to build new Superchargers with this in mind. The company understands that the demand for Tesla cars and charging stations in some areas is very high, so it strives to increase the number of charging stations where needed as soon as possible.

With Tesla's continued growth in the number of electric vehicles, the company plans to significantly expand its Supercharger network. The manufacturer's network of charging stations has doubled over the past 18 months and the company continues to work in this direction. Tesla said it plans to triple the Supercharger network over the next two years, which is no doubt great news for the company's car owners.

The manufacturer is constantly increasing its recruitment of specialists for positions that will be responsible for the installation of charging stations. In addition, a new factory for the production of Superchargers has already begun its work in China, which means that the company can increase the installation of charging stations even more actively. According to supercharge.info, Tesla currently has 3,073 active Superchargers worldwide with 27,731 stalls. It should be kept in mind that these data should be considered as approximate since the information on the site does not always have time to be updated in accordance with the latest data.
