The next-generation Tesla Roadster prototype is now on display at the Petersen Automotive Museum and its first photos and videos have already appeared on the Internet. The description for the exhibit also tells about its modification—Tesla Roadster SpaceX Package —with which the car can accelerate to an unprecedented speed for road cars from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.1 seconds.

On May 19, an exhibition featuring the striking Tesla Roadster was opened at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Customers who purchased tickets for $45 received the unique opportunity to see the cars in an intimate environment. This means that visitors have special after-hours exhibition access, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm PST, as well as access to exhibits on the museum's second floor. Yesterday was the first day you could see the new generation Tesla Roadster there, and the first photos and videos have already appeared on the Internet.

Apart from the stunning exterior and interior, the description plate contained very impressive information. According to the description, the next-generation Tesla Roadster with the SpaceX Package will provide a 0-60 mph acceleration time in just 1.1 seconds! This is unprecedented speed for cars on the road today.

Roadster with the SpaceX Package will use a SpaceX cold gas thruster system with ultra high-pressure air in a composite over-wrapped pressure vessel in place of the two rear seats. The vehicle will include ~ 10 small rocket thrusters arranged seamlessly around the car. These rocket engines dramatically improve acceleration, top speed, braking, and cornering, as Tesla CEO Elon Musk talked about earlier. Well, after such amazing details, who would not want to have a Roadster?

Description of Tesla Roadster at the Petersen Automotive Museum:

“Unveiled in 2017, the Roadster is the second iteration of the first car released by Tesla. Powered by lightweight lithium-ion batteries and a 'Plaid' powertrain, in which one electric motor powers the front wheels and two power the rear, the standard Roadster will reportedly be able to accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in as little as 1.9 seconds. Demonstrating the versatility of electric power and adding extra distinction to the car's already high performance, an announced SpaceX Package would outfit the Roadster with cold air thrusters positioned at the rear, allowing for a 0-to-60-mph acceleration time of 1.1 seconds— a rate is largely unprecedented among road cars."
