Twitter has begun sharing ad revenue with content creators for ads that appear in their reply threads. The new program is only available to creators with Twitter Blue subscription.
New Twitter owner Elon Musk has announced that starting Friday, the platform will share advertising revenue with content creators. He explained that these are ads that appear directly in the threads they posted on Twitter. Only creators who already follow Twitter Blue Verified are eligible to claim rewards. Other details were not announced.

As Musk previously promised, subscribing to Twitter Blue brings a number of benefits over other users of the platform. The appearance of a blue badge next to the name, cherished by many, is just a nice bonus. Twitter Blue followers are already seeing half as many ads in their feeds and have access to additional features like editing tweets, the ability to upload longer videos, and more. Twitter Blue subscribers currently pay $8/month or $84/year if they sign up via the web version and $11/month if they sign up on iOS.
Adding the ability to generate revenue from ads shown in creators' threads will incentivize users to create quality content that can go viral and reward the creator accordingly. At the same time, well-chosen ads placed under such tweets can be beneficial for advertisers, so they may also be more interested in using Twitter.
