Tesla Giga Texas is already close to starting mass production, which could begin as early as this week, according to rumors. Certain areas of the factory have already received certificates of compliance from the county fire marshal, which confirms the imminent opening.

Tesla Giga Texas is one of the most important keys to ramping up production in 2022 and further expanding the company's influence in the global automotive market. Construction is in its final stages, and at least the Model Y production workshops seem to be ready to start operation.

Late last week, Joe Tegtmeyer/Twitter, who constantly monitors the progress of the construction of Giga Texas, learned that the factory will begin mass production this week. In addition, Joe said he has been informed that there are already finished vehicles in the factory building, while several cars are already at test sites out of Texas, where crash tests and other tests are underway. At the moment, it is not known whether these rumors correspond to the truth, as well as whether the manufacturer will be able to meet the planned schedule if this rumor is true, but new information indicates that the factory is already very close to starting work.

Austin Business Journal reported that on January 4, Travis County spokesperson Hector Nieto said that certain areas of the factory have already received certificates of compliance from the county fire marshal. Those certificates are similar to a certificate of occupancy and are necessary before a company can open a building. Since the existing Giga Texas building will be used for the production of Model Y, Model 3, Cybertruck, and Semi, there is every reason to believe that the certificates refer to the workshops that will manufacture Model Y, for which Tesla intends to start production.

Even if the manufacturer does not start production this week, but can only in the coming weeks, it is still very important. Tesla's current manufacturing facilities cannot meet the ever-growing demand, so in order to continue to expand its influence, the company must increase production. Up to this point, this has been due to the ramp-up of production at Giga Shanghai, but this is not enough. Giga Texas and Giga Berlin will be key to achieving this goal and will hopefully be able to meet demand in the coming years, while Tesla continues to build new factories.
