Tesla Outshines Other Exhibitors at CIIE 2022 in China, Attracting Huge Consumer Attention

Tesla outshines other exhibitors at the China International Import Expo 2022 in China. Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid attracted a lot of attention and stimulated a wave of customers who wanted to order new products from the company.

Tesla has been in the spotlight again, this time at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) 2022, which takes place November 5-10 in Shanghai, China. According to SCMP, who also attended the exhibition, the manufacturer has once again outshone everyone by introducing new car models that are not yet available for order in China. Even though the event has fewer visitors than usual due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Tesla booth drew a huge crowd. Consumers were itching to take a look at the US-made Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid debuting in China at CIIE 2022.

A Tesla representative at the booth, who asked not to be named, said the overwhelming amount of consumer attention even exceeded expectations. While the company just wanted to show off its new products, a lot of visitors were interested in buying the Model S and X on display. “[The company] had just hoped to share [its] latest products and vision about new-energy vehicles, but many visitors were keen on owning the new models,” he said.

“Tesla’s success [in China] proves that Chinese consumers and US products are still intertwined,” said the chief executive of Shanghai Yacheng Culture, a firm that deals with marketing and branding for retail companies. “After all, geopolitical tensions will not stop US and European companies from doing business in China, because of the gargantuan size of the market.”

In addition to Model S Plaid and Model X Plaid, Tesla showed visitors a bipedal robot, Optimus, which was unveiled during AI Day at the end of September 2022. In addition, the company had a separate room where visitors could learn more about Tesla's manufacturing technologies. In addition to information boards, there was a Model Y body in white
