Tesla has stopped accepting orders for Cybertruk outside of North America, which could surprise the company's customers. However, since the demand for some of its vehicles exceeds production “to a ridiculous degree,” according to Elon Musk, such a move is entirely justified.

According to Tesla's official website, the manufacturer has stopped accepting orders for its new Cybertruck pickup truck outside of North America. Thus, as of today, it is only available in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Such a move by the company may have come as a surprise to its customers and those who planned to order the electric pickup truck, however there may be good reasons for this.

Since Tesla unveiled its stunning Cybertruck in 2019, orders for it have skyrocketed. According to unofficial data, in 2021 their number exceeded one million, which is really impressive. The popularity of the electric pickup truck is not surprising, but it is time to really look at things. Assuming that Tesla has indeed received such a large number of orders, this means that in the next few years, the company will be focused on fulfilling them, so it makes a lot of sense to reduce the flow of their number now so that customers do not have to wait for their fulfillment over the next 5-10 years. Meanwhile, as soon as the manufacturer completes a big number of them, it will open the order page for all over the world.

Recently, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, during a speech at the FT Future of the Car 2022 conference, said that the company has a large number of orders for Cybertruck, which will take more than three years to complete after the start of production. At the same time, the head of Tesla said that the company could stop taking orders for the pickup truck, as demand for some of its vehicles exceeds production “to a ridiculous degree.”

“We have more orders of the first Cybertrucks than we could possibly fulfill for three years after the start of production.”

Cybertruck is scheduled to start production in 2023 at Giga Texas. The electric pickup truck is long-awaited not only for customers but also for Musk himself. It is his brainchild, created as a combination of his engineering, fantasy, and aesthetic perceptions, designed to bring benefit and satisfaction to customers. “I can't wait to have this baby around. [Cybertruck] is gonna be epic,” said Musk during the Giga Texas grand opening event.
