Tesla to Add Ability to Adjust Temperature of Automatic Cabin Overheat Protection in Next Software Update

Tesla will add the ability to adjust the temperature of automatic cabin overheat protection in the next software update, according to the announcement from Elon Musk. This will make it possible to maintain the desired temperature in the cabin, which is especially important during very hot seasons.

Tesla is again adding features to make the use of its cars as comfortable as possible for all people. Although the needs and demands of absolutely everyone according to all conceivable wishes can never be satisfied, the manufacturer does not give up in its attempts to do everything in its power. Tesla CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter today to make a positive announcement for the company's customers. He said the company will add the ability to adjust automatic cabin overheat protection in the next software update. Musk emphasized that this is especially important with record heatwaves.

“Tesla's automatic cabin overheat protection should make a real difference with record heatwaves.

Ability to adjust activation temperature coming with next software release.”

The climate control system can reduce the temperature of the cabin in extremely hot ambient conditions for a period of around twelve hours after the owner exits the car. Currently, automatic cabin overheat protection is set to ~104ºF (40°C). While this threshold may suit most people, there are still those who will want to adjust this setting based on their personal needs and desires. In addition, if the owner stores in the car (permanently or temporarily) some things that require a special temperature regime, then he/she can set the threshold below the one set by the manufacturer. This is extremely convenient, especially since many owners leave their cars outside.
