Tesla Wall Connector is now available for purchase at the Best Buy online store. This update hints at the wider adoption of Tesla's charging connector design, which is called the North American Charging Standard (NACS).

Tesla is moving ahead with plans to roll out its car charging port design in North America. The largest consumer electronics retailer in the US and Canada, Best Buy, has begun selling the Tesla Wall Connector, which may indicate the company is more open in its intention to give non-Tesla EV owners access to its charging infrastructure, the Supercharger network.

The Wall Connector in white Gen 3 costs $400 with an affordable 12-month financing plan. This Wall Connector is great for charging Tesla vehicles. The J1772 wall charger in black is $550 with an available 18-month financing plan with a membership card. However, this Wall Connector is also better suited for charging non-Tesla EVs, if the owner has an adapter. In addition, one of the images in the online store shows that the J1772 charger is charging an EV from another manufacturer.

Tesla recently opened up the design of its charging connector, NACS, to other manufacturers to build their cars with it. Today, NACS is the most common charging standard in North America, and the number of electric vehicles with NACS outnumbers CCS by more than twice, and Tesla's Supercharger network has 60% more NACS posts than all the CCS-equipped networks combined. That is why, for any automaker looking to accelerate the spread of EVs, switching to NACS is a logical step. However, only time will tell which EV manufacturers are truly interested in doing so.

In addition, everything hints that Tesla is going to open its wide Supercharger network to non-Tesla electric vehicle owners in North America, so many of those users will already be interested in buying an adapter to charge on the network. Meanwhile, by purchasing an additional Tesla Wall Connector, these consumers will be able to charge their cars at home, for maximum comfort. Today, Tesla Wall Connector is the best in the field, and its price is even cheaper than other solutions. In general, in the industry, the cost of a quality home EV device ranges from $400 to $800.
