100 Tesla Model Ys will be added to the MILES car-sharing fleet in Germany. The vehicles will be added to the already existing offering, which includes Model Y and Model 3 among others.

MILES is expanding its car-sharing fleet by 100 Tesla Model Ys, the German company said in its press release. With the addition of Model Y to the fleet, the share of pure battery-electric vehicles continues to grow. The vehicles will be available in various German cities.

The car-sharing provider also revealed that Tesla Model Y vehicles are already in the fleet and available with a MILES car subscription from November 2022. On November 1, 2022, car-sharing company Miles Mobility acquired all-electric car provider WeShare. As a result, the range of offers has been expanded and its own MILES subscription has been launched.

MILES cars are divided into categories depending on their size (S, M, L). Another category is premium cars (P). Tesla Model Y and Model 3 are included in the premium category.

“At MILES, we believe that different use cases require different vehicles. The Tesla Model Y offers plenty of room for luggage, shopping, friends and family, and is a great choice for special occasions,” said Nora Goette, spokesperson for MILES.

However, not every driver can choose premium cars. In order to rent a Tesla car, a certain qualification of the driver is required:

  • Drivers must be at least 23 years old,
  • they must have had a driver's license for more than 12 months; and
  • they must drive at least 10 times with MILES.

MILES currently operates in Berlin, Bonn, Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich, and Potsdam. In autumn 2022, two offices were added, in Brussels and Ghent. As part of the WeShare integration, it is planned that the MILES fleet will continue to grow with the addition of more electric vehicles. The total number of users of the company exceeds 200,000 people.
