In 2020, Tesla Model 3 has been the best selling electric vehicle (EV) in South Korea. Tesla is ahead of Hyundai and Kia in the first seven months of the year--which is particularly notable given that Tesla's factories in the U.S. were shut down for more than a month due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Tesla's popularity in Korea, like in many parts of the world, continues to spike--and the party has likely just begun. It has now become known that several Tesla Model Ys are heading to Busan, South Korea, reported @VedaPrime/Twitter. Three Model Ys are marked as test vehicles.

In recent years, the crossover vehicle segment has continued to grow. With Tesla's entry into the global market, the demand for the Model Y may even exceed the demand for the Model 3. Model Y is appointed with first-class interior and sound, a panoramic glass roof, like Model 3, as well as a large cargo space and the ability to install a third row of seats, with seating up to seven.

Model Y is currently sold only in North America. Orders are also open in China, but the delivery date for the cars is set as early 2021. Europeans will only be able to order the company's electric crossover after the construction of Phase 1 of Giga Berlin is completed. Nevertheless, Tesla continues to test Model Y in various countries and weather conditions.

In July, three Model Ys arrived in New Zealand for winter testing. According to Veda Prime's observations, all three Model Ys had a left-hand steering wheel and early VIN numbers. It is winter in New Zealand at this time, so low temperatures and snow can create the necessary conditions for specific tests.

This observation may indicate that Model Y is being readied for shipment to Asia. Given that production and delivery of the crossover in North America took place several months earlier than originally planned, there is reason to believe that global deliveries will also start ahead of schedule.
