Elon Musk’s The Boring Company Plans On Multiple Tunnels around Miami Area

The ‘Boring Tunnel Company’ is looking at several sites, in Miami & to the North in Fort Lauderdale, to build tunnels.

City Officials are continuing talks to move forward building tunnels to cut down on city traffic congestion in multiple locations.

Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis visited The Boring Company's tunnel projects in Las Vegas and Los Angeles in February.

Fort Lauderdale Mayor met with TBC to discuss a tunnel from downtown Fort Lauderdale to Las Olas Boulevard, with possible other locations.

“Our city commission is unanimously in favor of this. So, it’s not going to be government holding us back, it’s just going to be our ability to move forward, being able to do the soil borings, the technology, and our partners.” — Mayor Dean Trantalis

Earlier this year Mayor Suarez of Miami talked with TBC about making tunnels in downtown Miami.

Suarez told the  Miami Heraldon Monday, he will visit the Las Vegas Boring tunnels on March 18th.

“I’ve been in constant communication with Steve Davis, the CEO of The Boring Company, with the hope and expectation we can go up there and see if there's a solution for our community," — Miami Mayor Suarez

The ‘The Boring Company’ specializes in tunnels that are designed specifically for electric vehicles.  Without the need to ventilate the tunnel from toxic CO2 the tunnels are significantly cost effective in comparison to similar tunnels designed with expensive air ventilation systems to keep clean air in the tunnels.
