A camouflaged Tesla Model 3 was spotted on the roads of India. This is the second time a Tesla vehicle has been seen testing in the country, but this is the first time it has been covered in a camouflage wrap.

Tesla continues to grow strongly in the Indian market. After a series of important steps in recent months, the company has begun testing vehicles on the country's roads. A Deep Blue Metallic Model 3 was first seen in Pune, Maharashtra in mid-June. Several Indian media outlets have now published shots of the new Model 3 testing.

The car was spotted in Chakan, which is located near Pune, where it was previously seen. This time, the Model 3 was dramatically different, as it was in a camouflage wrap. Tesla first applied this in India, so it's interesting what the company was trying to hide. Perhaps it was a different version of the car (Performance for example), or some design changes were made. However, the most likely reason is that Tesla did not want to attract increased attention to the car ahead of time.

The appearance of a Tesla car in this region—and not for the first time—may hint that the manufacturer is considering this place as a base for testing. Also, the factories of some car manufacturers, such as Mercedes, Volkswagen, Mahindra, Bajaj, are already located in Chakan. Earlier, the question of whether Tesla will create a manufacturing enterprise in the country has already been circulated, but a definite answer has not been received. Trade Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has asked Tesla to consider building its electric vehicles in India to take advantage of additional incentives. He assured that the cost of producing an electric vehicle for Tesla in India would be the cheapest in the world, even compared to China. However, the Californian manufacturer wants to assess the country's demand and development prospects first before taking major steps.

Later that day, Tesla Model 3 was seen driving on the roads of Pune.

Tesla Model 3 sales are expected to launch in India by the end of 2021 or early next year. At the moment, many people in the country have already expressed interest in purchasing the automaker’s EVs.
