Elon Musk continues to meet with top officials in China during his trip. He met with the Minister of Industry and Information Technology of China and the Minister of Commerce, after meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China. In addition, Musk was spotted meeting with the CATL chairman.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk began the second day of his visit to China on Wednesday, meeting with more local officials. On May 31, Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) Minister Jin Zhuanglong met with him in Beijing. They exchanged views on topics such as the development of new energy vehicles (NEV) and smart connected vehicles, according to an announcement from the MIIT (via CnEVPost).

Earlier Wednesday, Musk visited China's Ministry of Commerce and met with Commerce Minister Wang Wentao. The details of the meeting are still unknown. Yesterday, Musk met with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang.

Tesla is ready to continue
expanding its business in China and share China's development opportunities, Musk said at a meeting yesterday. He supports the development of the supply chain and the relationship between the US and China.

In addition to meeting Chinese officials, Musk was spotted yesterday meeting with Robin Zeng, chairman of CATL, the world's largest power battery maker. Neither Tesla nor CATL announced the meeting. Local publication The Paper, citing industry sources, said the talks could include the supply of battery cells for Giga Shanghai, as well as future cooperation at a battery factory in North America and the supply of batteries.
