According to close friends and associates of Elon Musk, he plans to move to Texas, which is a logical step, given that SpaceX and The Boring Co. is located there, and the Tesla factory will soon begin operation.

Musk said in May that he would sell all his houses, and now his friends have said that he is moving to Texas, though there are no records of a change of residence yet, CNBC reported.

For Musk, Texas is an attractive place to live for several reasons. First of all, it houses the SpaceX South Texas launch site, also known as Boca Chica launch site, where he spends half of his time. Also, recently, his other company The Boring Co. opened an office in Texas. In addition, the completion of Phase 1 of Giga Texas construction is planned for 2021. Therefore, the simultaneous presence of all the main Musk companies in the same state is a very significant factor in moving there.

In July, Governor Abbott told CNBC's Squawk Box that Musk had told him he got his driver's license in Texas and is a “bona fide Texan now.” Perhaps the plans for the move were already discussed then.

However, for the time being, there are no records confirming the fact of the move or official statements by Musk himself, so this information should be considered as a rumor.
