Elon Musk intends to form a council with “widely diverse viewpoints” that will decide whether to restore banned users. Until it is formed, major content decisions or accounts reinstatements will not be made.

Elon Musk completed the purchase of Twitter on Thursday and became the owner and CEO of the company. Now he will start working on improving the platform, in accordance with his views, which will not be easy, after the mess left by past executives. Musk has previously indicated that he thinks Twitter's content moderation standards are too strict and that he does not believe in lifetime bans, so more details in this regard are now needed for advertisers, users, and the wider public. In particular, the issue of restoring the accounts of such popular scandalous personalities as, for example, Donald Trump is of most interest.

On October 28, Musk posted a tweet that clarified the situation a bit and gave hope that any decisions to restore blocked accounts would be taken in a balanced and objective manner. He said Twitter will form a content moderation council. It will include people with a variety of points of view, which can ensure that an informed decision is made. Musk also said that no important content decisions or account reinstatements will be made by Twitter until the council is formed and begins its work.

For now, Musk has hard work to do on Twitter. He must become aware of all the current affairs of the company, as now he has access to information that was previously carefully hidden by the executives of the platform. This must be done in order to understand the real state of affairs of the company, on which further steps to improve the platform will depend.
