Rumor: Tesla China-Made Model Y Surpassed 100K Orders within 10hrs of New Pricing

As we reported yesterday, Tesla China Launches Rock Bottom Model Y Prices With Immediate Delivery In Jan 2021. The starting prices of the two variants are 339,900 YUAN ($51,890 USD) for the long ranger version and 369,900 YUAN ($56,482 USD) for the performance version.

And with further Tesmanian research, we confirmed the 2021 Tesla Model Y (China) will come with the same interior upgrade as the 2021 Model 3. Also, Model Y will come with a heated steering wheel and the HEPA high efficiency air filtration system.

One especially hot piece of information we received through our multiple reliable sources in China, is the following: Within 10 hours of the official pricing announcement, the total order numbers reportedly surpassed 100,000 units of the China-Made Model Y.

A couple hours after the pricing announcement, Tesla China official Weibo account also posted a note, asking customers for patience when ordering due to the high traffic in the Tesla.cn.

"CURRENTLY, THERE ARE TOO MANY ORDERS ON THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE AND MAY NOT BE REFRESHED.  PLEASE BE PATIENT."

Long Range Model Y will start delivery this month Jan 2021, and Performance Model Y is estimated to deliver in Q3 2021.
