Tesla Team Surpasses 1 Millionth EV Milestone, Doubters Bite The Dust

Elon Musk and the Tesla team surpassed expectations as a young automaker recently after they built their one-millionth EV, proving doubters wrong.

Today, Tesla made its 1 millionth car. It was a red Model Y, which is fitting because reaching the production of the affordable crossover was a milestone in and of itself. The Model Y is based on the Model 3 platform, a vehicle Elon Musk talked about so many years ago in his original Master Plan.

Elon Musk announced the milestone on Twitter as he is apt to do with all of Tesla’s accomplishments. The Tesla community congratulated him and the Tesla team for reaching such a momentous milestone. Even more astounding, Tesla appears to be on track to produce its next million EVs within the next two years, at least based on the company's current production pace.

For most people outside the Tesla community, the celebrations may have seemed overzealous. At the same time, however, people outside the Tesla community have probably not felt the overwhelming criticism and both that Elon Musk, the Tesla team, and the community have endured over the years.

A 60-Minute recap video—seen below—perfectly encapsulated the doubt and way of thinking Tesla and Elon Musk have had to struggle against. As noted in the 2018 interview, Tesla has survived against all the odds and grown into a respectable EV company. However, there is still doubt about whether Tesla can thrive, especially with legacy automakers entering the EV game.

People struggling against adversity and doubt know that every day will be tough, but it is also a chance to get better and persevere. For the past decade or so, Tesla and Elon Musk have had to fight every single day—and based on today’s accomplishment, they fought hard.

Tesla has been in the gauntlet for a decade or more. The EV automaker is just starting to work its way out of it. But it wasn’t all bad for Elon Musk and Tesla. Along the way to bringing the advent of the electric car, Tesla and Elon Musk have had some wins. Today was one of those big wins.

Tesmanian would like to congratulate Elon Musk and the Tesla team on its 1 millionth car. We appreciate all the hard work, sleepless nights, and the challenges you endured to reach this milestone. And we will continue to support Tesla and Elon Musk.
