The Tesla Cybertruck is set to smash one of the most popular US pickup trucks in the market. UBS analyst Park Hummel surveyed 10,000 people in six countries, and the data collected was favorable to the CYBRTRK. So favorable, in fact, that the Cybertruck already appears to be ahead one of the country's best-selling pickups, the RAM 1500.
The Tesla Cybertruck beat Fiat Chrysler’s Ram 1500 in Hummel’s survey. According to Hummel: “18% of US survey respondents would likely consider buying Cybertruck. In the head-to-head comparison, the Chevy Silverado and the F-150 would still be preferred over Cybertruck...but Cybertruck is ahead of the RAM 1500,” reported Barron’s.
The Cybertruck will be Tesla’s first entry into the pickup truck market. As such, CYBRTRK sales could define how well Tesla does with this new demographic.
Thus far, the overall consensus of Tesla’s Cybertruck is positive at best and neutral at worst. Just recently, crowdsourced data shared on CybertruckTalk.com revealed that the Cybertruck gained some support in Texas, which has been known as pickup truck country.

When the Tesla Cybertruck was unveiled, many questioned whether it would ever gain traction amongst the hardcore pickup truck community. As some seem to have rightfully predicted, the CYBRTRK has gained some respect from pickup truck users and enthusiasts.
As it turned out, the Cybertruck has many appealing qualities that even hardcore truck lovers couldn’t ignore. Auto veteran Jack Rickard has said in the past that there are two types of truck owners. There are pickup owners who look at the practicality of a vehicle. Then there are the owners who are a bit more flashy and are more interested in their what trucks represent.
At the forefront of the CYBRTRK’s list of qualities is its functionality. Tesla’s EV pickup has features, like built-in outlets, that could prove useful for truck owners who use their vehicles for work.
The overall aesthetic of the Cybertruck is another one of its appealing qualities. Elon Musk’s EV truck was the butt of some jokes at the beginning because of its outward appearance but it has dug its way into people’s hearts over time.
The unique design of the CYBRTRK proved to be interesting enough to make pickup truck fans take a second look at it and imagine themselves in it. And the Cybertruck proved to be irresistible based on the preorder numbers, which is speculated to be around the 500,000 range today.

Thus far, Cybertruck preorders seem to be strong. During the last Earnings Call, Elon Musk had only positive words about the Cybertruck’s demand.
“I have never seen actually such a level of demand at this -- we’ve never seen anything like it basically. I think we will make as about as many as we can sell for many years. So -- as many -- we’ll sell as many as we can make, it’s going to be pretty nuts. So, and I think actually the product is better than people realize even, they don’t have enough information to realize just be awesomeness of it, it’s just great,” he said.
