2021 will be a year of explosive growth for Tesla, as the company's two new factories begin operations in the second half of the year. The first product to be produced with them will be the Model Y. While Giga Shanghai has already started producing the electric SUV, other Tesla factories have begun installing critical equipment for its production. Recent video footage at Giga Berlin shows the beginning of the installation of the giant Giga Press there.

In mid-January, it was noticed that Tesla began installing Giga Press in Giga Texas, which was a big and pleasant surprise. Giga Berlin has been keeping up with the overall efforts of the company and has recently also begun installing a giant casting machine. @Gf4Tesla/Twitter for the first time managed to capture on video that the components for assembling the Giga Press are already in the Casting Shop, and the installation of the revolutionary machine has begun.

The photographs show that the Giga Press frame begins to form from individual parts. Since a tall tent is visible inside of the building, it is possible that the machine is being assembled in it. Nevertheless, due to the fact that one of the platforms is hidden under the tent, it is possible that Tesla is simultaneously assembling two Giga Presses at once.

Of course, there is still a lot of work to be done. Nevertheless, it seems it will be done quickly, and the trial operation of the revolutionary machine could already begin in May. When Tesla installed the Giga Press at its Fremont plant, it took about two months from the start of installation until the first samples of single-piece casts were seen. Therefore, there is every reason to believe that trial production in Giga Berlin could begin as early as May.

A few days ago, there was a rumor that Tesla asked the railway carrier Deutsche Bahn AG to plan the transportation of containers by rail, taking into account certain terms and volumes. According to the request, the EV maker will need increased haulage starting in May, when prototype test production at the plant begins. In addition, July-August is indicated as the start of full production at Giga Berlin. The tweet containing information about this was later deleted, which is not unexpected, given the information in it, which probably should have been kept in strict confidence; nevertheless, Tesmanian managed to photograph the tweet before it disappeared.
