Tesla China has officially announced the start of Model Y Performance deliveries in the country. The compact crossover will help boost Tesla's sales in China and its average selling price.
Tesla China announced today through its Weibo account the official start of Model Y Performance deliveries. This marks another milestone for the manufacturer in the world's largest automotive market.
"Model Y Performance version officially started delivery, new milestones were brightened one by one.
From Roadster in 2008 to Model S/X and to Model 3/Y today.
The entire series of models has been planned as early as 15 years ago in Tesla's secret master plan.
Secret master plans have no secrets, some are the determination and hard work to practice master plans."
A few hours after its first announcement, Tesla shared photos of the first Model Y Performance grand delivery, sharing only the most enjoyable moments with its clients.
Just three weeks ago, a Deep Blue Metallic Model Y Performance was spotted at Giga Shanghai. The car was on the factory floor, presumably along with other Model Y Performance vehicles. Another Midnight Silver Metallic and a Pearl White Multi-Coat sat alongside the Deep Blue Metallic, hinting that the company would start deliveries soon.
As previously expected, the first deliveries of the Model Y Performance began in Q4 2021. Starting from Q1 2022, this variant of the car could start shipping to Europe to fulfill more orders, at least until Giga Berlin is up and running and with sufficient capacity.
