Tesla signed a deal with Emergency Safety Solutions for the global implementation of H.E.L.P. technology. The company will be the first automaker to implement it. Technology improves road safety for vulnerable and disabled vehicles and occupants.
Emergency Safety Solutions, the creator of the Hazard Enhanced Location Protocol (H.E.L.P.), announced on October 12 that it has signed a global agreement with Tesla to deploy the technology to Tesla vehicles, initially in North America through an over-the-air software update. H.E.L.P. is a revolutionary vehicle warning system to help prevent crashes into disabled and vulnerable vehicles and their occupants. This collaboration will be the first implementation of the H.E.L.P. technology for passenger cars and is expected to be added to the Tesla vehicle lineup.

Emergency Safety Solutions is a certified minority owned enterprise whose mission is to save lives by eliminating preventable crashes involving vulnerable vehicles that are disabled and stopped on or near active roadways, the press release explains. This growing safety issue affects more than 72,000 people yearly in the U.S., with 15,000 injured or killed. ESS' suite of H.E.L.P. solutions provides advanced lighting alerts and digital location-based alerts to greatly improve advance warning communications to drivers.
