The popularity of electric vehicles continues to grow around the world, and Tesla has become the main driving force behind this. Model 3 is the world's best-selling electric vehicle, while Model Y is ranked fourth. Over the past year, the number of Tesla owners in the UK has increased significantly, and Model 3 has become the best-selling electric vehicle. The electric vehicle revolution continues.
In Q3 2020, the number of new registrations for diesel vehicles in the UK decreased by 31% compared to Q3 of 2019, while the number of gasoline vehicles decreased by 8%. In contrast, the number of registered vehicles using alternative fuels increased by 137% over the same period, according to the Department for Transport of the UK.

Also, during this period, 59,057 Ultra Low Emission Vehicles (ULEVs) were registered, which is 162% more than in Q3 of 2019. Thus, in Q3 2020, ULEVs accounted for 7.8% of all new registrations.

During the year that ended in September 2020, the most common ULEV model among new registrations was Tesla Model 3, which sold more than double that of its closest competitor. A total of 20,504 Model 3s were registered, followed by the BMW 3 Series with 9,330 vehicles, and then in third place, the Nissan Leaf with 7,302 units.

Tesla vehicle sales continue to penetrate in a growing number of countries, capturing the lion's share of customers who choose an electric vehicle as their personal vehicle. Electric cars are increasingly replacing their fuel counterparts and are winning over the hearts of many.
