Three Tesla Model 3s will join the Dallas County, Texas fleet. The purchased electric vehicles will initially be used as law enforcement agency cars to see if they have the potential for everyday use.

Dallas County will switch to electric cars. The first step towards new technologies and a greener future will be taken with the best electric vehicles. The county will purchase three Tesla Model 3 electric vehicles for its fleet, Fox4 reports. County commissioners voted Tuesday to approve the purchase. Three Teslas will cost the county just over $190,000, or about $65,000 each.

It is reported that, at least at the beginning, the cars will be used as a replacement for the cars of law enforcement agencies that are currently in service. Model 3 will be tested to see if it has the potential for everyday use. Obviously, the test results will amaze the county, which was the case for all Tesla vehicle testing programs known today.

Commissioner Elba Garcia praised the acquisition, calling it a great start to contribute to a better environment. "Very excited about this one. It's the purchase of the Teslas that we've been talking about when we talk about the great job that our automotive service center is doing and our environment. It's plain and simple. Having these cars is a great start," Garcia said.
