An incentive plan for effective and sustainable mobility presented to residents of Spain, better known as the MOVES (movilidad eficiente y sostenible) Plan, was secured in 2020 with a budget of 65 million euros. This is 44% more than in the previous year (45 million euros in 2019). According to this plan, consumers will be able to receive up to 5,500 euros for the purchase of an electric car.

Residents of Spain can also receive an additional 1000 euros from manufacturers if the administration approves the request. Royal Decree 569/2020 was published on June 17, 2020.

The MOVES Plan is designed to support electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids (PHEVS). Cars with a diesel or gasoline engine do not receive any incentives.
