Tesla continues to support electric vehicle owners by promoting the wider adoption of charging stations. Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. announced that it will partner with Tesla to install 20,000 universal electric vehicle chargers at its 2,000 North American hotels.

Hilton Worldwide Holdings Inc. said it plans to install at least six wall chargers in selected hotels that will work with any model of electric vehicle. The rollout will begin in 2024. This will make Hilton's electric vehicle charging network the largest of any hotel company. For this expansion, the company entered into a partnership with Tesla. The Texas-based manufacturer will supply chargers and thereby expand its influence in the field of electric vehicle charging. The installations are expected to be completed by 2025, according to Hilton's Chief Brand Officer Matt Schuyler.

“We think in many ways this is going to meet a guest need and a growing need over time,” Schuyler said in an interview, according to BNN Bloomberg.

Rebecca Tinucci, Tesla’s senior director of charging infrastructure, said hotels are a prime target for the company’s expansion of its charging facilities.

“Installing infrastructure at popular destinations like Hilton hotels enables EV owners to charge where they park, meaning no unnecessary refueling stops along their journey,” Tinucci said in a statement.

Hotels and inns are lagging behind in providing electric vehicle charging. A recent survey of 17,000 hotels by the American Hotel and Lodging Association found that only about a quarter offer a convenient stay for travelers with electric vehicles. Currently, chargers are available in less than a third of Hilton properties.
