Texas Welcomes Elon Musk to Bring Twitter to the State

Texas is welcoming Elon Musk to bring Twitter to the state so that all of his companies' operations are concentrated there. As of today, Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company, and The Musk Foundation are headquartered in the Lone Star State.

The last couple of weeks have been loud for Elon Musk and Twitter. A talented engineer who turns any business into gold when he touches it has filed for a Twitter buyout. After a dramatic stunt by the social network to launch a poison pill and meetings with tearful employees, the platform accepted Musk's offer.

Although it will take several more months for the deal to go through, interested parties have already stepped up with proposals for the future of Twitter. The Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, after the news became public, immediately offered Musk to place the headquarters of the social network in his state. This might make sense since all of his other companies are already in Texas. Tesla, SpaceX, The Boring Company, and even the Musk Foundation have already settled into the Lone Star State. If the purchase does go through, the head of the world renowned companies will have to decide whether to leave Twitter in California, with which he has a tense relationship, or move it to Texas.

To reinforce Abbott's hospitality, a local rancher also welcomes Musk. Jim Schwertner is offering 100 acres of land just 38 miles North of Austin. He stressed that these lands will be given away free of charge.

According to Austonia, as President and CEO of Schwertner Farms, Schwertner oversees farming and ranching on 20,000 acres of land north of Georgetown, in Williamson, and Bell counties. He said he thinks Musk is the best thing that has ever happened to Texas. He added that a business like Twitter would add many jobs and boost the state economy, so giving the land—which is about 75 football fields—to Musk would be a win-win for everyone.
