Elon Musk's Boring Company Hints at New Tunnel in Austin, Goes All-In on Texas After SpaceX & Tesla Giga Texas

It looks like Elon Musk was not joking when he said that The Boring Co. was likely to drill a tunnel under Giga Texas. A system of tunnels under the factory can help reduce pressure on nearby roads, which is likely to increase due to the operation of the factory. The Boring Co. tunnel benefits cannot be overestimated.

Today The Boring Co. posted a list of new job positions in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and, surprisingly, Austin. For Austin, the company is looking for specialists in several areas: Electrical Engineer, Lead Electrical Technician, Mechanical Engineer, Power Electronics Engineer, Sr. Mechanical Engineer, Business Development Lead, and Lead Technical Recruiter.

The Business Development Lead will need to network with government and federal officials and businesses in order to offer the most advanced traffic problem solutions developed by The Boring Co.

Lead Technical Recruiter will oversee recruitment strategy, structure, and growth.

Mechanical Engineers and Electrical Engineers will be directly responsible for the planning, inspection and construction of tunnels using boring machines.

The Boring Co. is trying to bypass traffic by creating a system of super-safe earthquake-resistant tunnels under cities. "We should build more tunnels. Put trains in them or cars or whatever, but every large city on Earth is plagued by traffic & it’s getting worse. Multi-level tunnels might solve this, so worth trying," Musk said.

Musk's aspirations were well-appreciated by representatives of Las Vegas. They chose The Boring Co. for the design, construction, and management of tunnels capable of transporting passengers in small autonomous vehicles. It seems Austin will soon be joining the list of cities with the most advanced transportation systems in the world.
