Aqua Expeditions provides luxury river cruise ship expeditions. The company operates a fleet of small modern ships with five-star hotel amenities onboard. Aqua Expeditions announced that it started offering SpaceX Starlink satellite internet on three cruise ships – Aqua Blue, Aqua Mare, and Aqua Nera. And it has plans to equip the rest of its fleet – Aria Amazon and Aqua Mekong – with Starlink hardware by September 2023.

Aqua Expeditions is one of the first small ship operators to offer SpaceX Starlink internet. “I am excited to offer reliable quality internet service to our guests and crew,” said Aqua Expeditions founder and CEO Francesco Galli Zugaro. “Our goal is to provide the best possible Wi-Fi connection to allow guests to stay in touch with friends and family, particularly during our longer voyages of 7, 12 and 14 nights,” they stated in a press release. Passengers will have access to 2-hours of complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi per day and the company is offering guests unlimited Wi-Fi at $100 per person for the duration of their voyage.

SpaceX Starlink will be a game-changer for the cruise ship industry, providing reliable internet communication services in remote waters globally. As of today, SpaceX operates a fleet of approximately 3,900 Starlink satellites in Low Earth Orbit capable of beaming service directly to user terminals on Earth. Aqua Expedition cruise ships navigate in remote rivers around the world. The Aqua Mekong cruise ship operates in Asia’s Mekong river, sails through Cambodia and Vietnam. The Aria Amazon and Aqua Nera ships sail through the beautiful Peruvian Amazon rainforest. Aqua Blu navigates through the Coral Triangle located in the pristine East Indonesian Archipelago. And the Aqua Mare operates in the Galapagos Islands.
