Former Argentine President Mauricio Macri met with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin. It is reported that they discussed the possibilities of cryptocurrencies and blockchain, which may be useful for the state. Macri stated that Ethereum is one of the most innovative technologies of the century.

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin made an unannounced visit to Argentina last Friday. The programmer was first spotted in the fashionable area of Palermo in the country's capital, Buenos Aires. Buterin made a surprise appearance at The Graph's anniversary party for the launch of the main network. He reportedly came to see the project himself and hear local feedback on the cryptocurrency world.

“He came to eat pizza and talk about the ecosystem. He looked like a rock star. Everyone wanted to take a picture with him. He played ping pong. He chatted. I think he enjoyed it,”explains Lauren Fabris from The Graph.

Several other unicorn startups attended the event, including MercadoLibre co-founder Hernan Kazakh, Globant co-founder Gilbert Englebien, and entrepreneur Santiago Siri. During The Graph party, Buterin spoke positively about the blockchain project of the latest Proof-of-Humanity—a personal identification system for obtaining basic income.

The next day, it was reported that he was having lunch with former president Mauricio Macri. Argentina is in the lead when it comes to crypto revolution in Latin America.

“Fascinating encounter with Vitalik Buterin, creator of Ethereum, one of the most innovative decentralized technologies of our century. His Ether's coin is one of the best values in the world. We chat about the role of crypto and blockchain opportunities for states.”

Recall that in August, the current President of Argentina, Alberto Fernandez, admitted that the legalization of Bitcoin could help the country cope with inflation.
