Tesla AI might play a role in AGI, given that it trains against the outside world, especially with the advent of Optimus— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) January 19, 2022
Artificial general intelligence is the hypothetical ability of an intelligent agent to understand or learn any intellectual task that a human being can. It is a primary goal of some artificial intelligence research and a common topic in science fiction and futures studies. AGI can also be referred to as strong AI, full AI, or general intelligent action.
An intelligent agent (IA) is anything which perceives its environment, takes actions autonomously in order to achieve goals, and may improve its performance with learning or use of knowledge.
At the end of last year, Musk joined Lex Friedman on a podcast and said that Tesla Bot can develop a personality, taking into account the characteristics and wishes of their owners: "It could develop a personality over time that is unique. It's not like all the robots are the same. That personality could evolve to match the owner, or whatever you want to call it."
Musk is vehemently convinced that AI should serve the benefit of humanity. That is why he and Sam Altman launched OpenAI in late 2015 with the goal of creating an open company that works for the benefit of society, not the state or corporation. Openness is designed to avoid an over-concentration of power in AI.
Knowing Musk's view on the issue of AI, @stevenmarkryan/Twitter voiced his thoughts that he was glad it was Tesla who was leading the development. Musk replied that the company will try very hard because it understands that decentralized control of the robots will be critical.
Will do our best. Decentralized control of the robots will be critical.— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) January 19, 2022
