Tesla has launched sales of a 1TB Solid State Drive to save all vehicle data in one place. It will store everything from games progress to Dashcam and Sentry Mode videos. The branded SSD is a useful and stylish addition to any Tesla car.

Along with the release of the Holiday Update, Tesla has added a 1 TB Solid State Drive to its online store. According to the description, this product is an automotive-grade external SSD, which means it is designed to work in various environmental conditions. Tesla explains that it can withstand the extreme temperatures that can be found inside a car, depending on the weather conditions. Sometimes it can be very hot inside the cabin, and other times it can get very cold, which means all of the device’s components must still continue to work properly. In addition, the Tesla SSD is designed for durability and can withstand shocks and vibrations that are common in cars.

Tesla claims its SSD has an extended lifespan compared to similar storage devices and “read/write speeds optimized for gaming, the Solid State Drive supports Steam gaming.” This is an important detail, because, with the new update, Tesla has integrated the Steam gaming platform into its cars. Now owners of the updated Model S and X have access to thousands of games and can play their favorite games right in their car.

The 1TB Solid State Drive costs $350 and is compatible with any Tesla vehicle. The SSD comes with one USB-A-female to USB-C-male adapter cable and will be available for purchase in February 2023.
