Tesla Model 3 and Model Y were shown at the 9th International Electric Vehicle Expo in South Korea. Tesla and Polestar were the only vehicles in production to be featured at the show.

The 9th International Electric Vehicle Expo (IEVE) in South Korea is an annual exhibition of environmentally friendly vehicles. Launched on May 3, IEVE brought together some 200,000 industry experts and visitors from around 50 countries of the world on the South Korean island of Jeju. Although the exhibition preparation committee promised to increase the participation of brands with finished cars this year, only two, Tesla and Polestar, took part in the event this year.

Tesla unveiled its most popular electric vehicles, Model 3 and Model Y, making their first appearance at the expo. Ever since Tesla debuted in South Korea in 2017 with its first showroom in south Seoul, the manufacturer's dominance has continued to rise. Even the local brands, Hyundai Motor and Kia, did not stand a chance.

Tesla sales in Korea last year showed a 50% increase compared to 2020. The manufacturer delivered 17,828 vehicles there. The biggest success was Model Y, which went on sale in the country last year. A total of 8,930 units were registered, while Model 3 sales were 8,898.
