Tesla has raised the prices of Model S and Model X in China by about $2,750. Apparently, the portfolio of orders for cars continues to grow, so the company has adjusted prices.

Tesla has raised the prices of its more expensive Model S and Model X vehicles in China, according to its website on Friday. The company raised prices by 19,000 Chinese yuan (about $2,740) on all versions of these vehicles. Model S now costs from RMB 808,900, up from RMB789,900 previously. Model S Plaid starts from RMB1,028,900, up from RMB1,009,900. Model X now costs RMB898,900, up from RMB879,900. A few days before, the company raised the prices of Model 3 and Model Y in China.

Tesla has a flexible pricing policy. Apparently, at the moment, the manufacturer focuses on demand, which is growing. In April, during the Q1 2023 Earnings Call, Tesla CEO Musk said the company would focus on higher sales volumes rather than higher margins. Tesla frequently adjusts vehicle prices to better respond to market conditions.

Tesla began delivering Model S and Model X to mainland China at the end of March. The expected delivery time for the entire Model S and Model X lineup is the second quarter, according to Tesla's Chinese website. Model S and Model X are not made in China but shipped from the US, where they are made at the Fremont factory.
