Elon Musk has no plans to cut 75% of Twitter employees, despite reports in the mainstream media. The new information came to light after he visited Twitter HQ in San Francisco.

On Wednesday, Elon Musk tweeted a video of himself entering the Twitter HQ in San Francisco, with a sink and saying “Let that sink in!” He has a great sense of humor, but is most noted for his deep insight into a variety of issues. The engineer has been interested in buying Twitter for months now and has big plans to transform it into a place open to the free expression of different points of view.

“Twitter should be as broadly inclusive as possible, serving as a fair forum for lively, even if occasionally rancorous, debate between widely divergent beliefs,” he wrote earlier this week.

During his visit to Twitter HQ, Musk met with some of the company's employees and even chatted with them, sometimes vaguely mentioning his plans for the company. The published photos show that the conversation took place in a positive and pleasant atmosphere, and Twitter employees listened carefully to the new boss, who was cheerful and gave them smiles.

According to Bloomberg, he told Twitter staff that he did not plan to lay off 75% of Twitter's employees, as The Washington Post had previously reported, and which was picked up and shared by other media outlets. Today, the company has 7,500 employees and many of them were frightened after such a report appeared in the media, which obviously created tension among them.

Obviously, in the process of reorganizing Twitter, Musk will fire ineffective employees, which every company has. However, he has previously stated that employees who will benefit the company and perform their duties responsibly have every chance to keep their jobs. Employees who have been inefficient and choose to shirk their direct job responsibilities are at risk of being fired, as they do not carry any value for the further development of Twitter. In addition, layoffs or transfers to other departments of employees who work in directions in which the company no longer intends to develop are possible.

However, even before the fake information about the possible dismissals of employees by Musk became known, job cuts should have occurred even if he had refused to buy the platform. According to internal documents obtained by The Post, the company's current management planned to cut staff by 25%. This means that about 1,875 people would lose their jobs. Executives also planned major infrastructure cuts and data center closures.
