Elon Musk turned 49 on the eve of Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) IPO's 10th anniversary. The fact that Musk's birthday comes right before TSLA launched its IPO is poetic. After all, Tesla wouldn't be the company it is today without Elon Musk at the helm.

The Tesla community marked Elon Musk's birthday with greetings and well-wishes on Twitter. Elon Musk marked with a simple tweet, saying: "69 days after 4/20 again haha." Most of those in the Tesla community assumed Elon Musk was hard at work alongside everyone else in the company for the quarter-end push.

Musk's willingness to work, his perseverance, and his hope in Tesla inspire others to believe in TSLA and its future. Elon Musk's clear-cut plan for Tesla has provided goals for the company that the TSLA community and investors can get behind.

"As you know, the initial product of Tesla Motors is a high-performance electric sports car called the Tesla Roadster. However, some readers may not be aware of the fact that our long term plan is to build a wide range of models, including affordably priced family cars.

"This is because the overarching purpose of Tesla Motors (and the reason I am funding the company) is to help expedite the move from a mine-and-burn hydrocarbon economy towards a solar electric economy, which I believe to be the primary, but not exclusive, sustainable solution," Musk wrote on August 2, 2006 about four years before Tesla launched its IPO.

On June 29, 2010, TSLA's IPO was launched on the NASDAQ exchange. Interestingly enough, on May 21, 2010, Toyota Motor Corporation (TM) invested US$50 million (2.5% stake) into TSLA and announced a joint venture with the young EV automaker. Toyota's strategic joint venture with Tesla was shortlived but did result in the RAV4 EV.

Now on the eve of TSLA's IPO launch, Tesla is the world's most valuable automaker by market cap, beating Toyota, and could be at the cusp of achieving Musk's goal in expediting the world's transition into a solar electric economy.

But Tesla isn't just an EV automaker anymore. In fact, most investors see TSLA as a tech stock. Even if Tesla has evolved into something more, Elon Musk remains. And it seems his plans for TSLA go much deeper than analysts can predict.

So on the eve of TSLA IPO's 10th anniversary and Elon Musk's 49th anniversary, Tesmanian would like to wish both Tesla and the man behind it more success and good fortune in the future.
