Elon Musk is an absolutely extraordinary personality, as he thinks and acts on a wider, more cosmic scale than we are used to seeing entrepreneurs. His companies span nearly every major industry and global issue that exists today, directly providing jobs for around 110,000 people worldwide.

Musk has founded, invested and/or developed several companies that operate in various industries, including SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, OpenAI, and The Boring Company. All of these companies are transforming several of the largest and most important areas for humanity: Automotive, Aerospace, Telecommunications, Energy, Transportation, Infrastructure/Tunneling, AI, and Healthcare. For development to be possible, the companies employ tens of thousands of people, and according to Musk, their number has already reached ~110,000.

Despite the fact that each of Musk's companies has an incredibly strong influence, it is Tesla that provides the most jobs. This is due to the fact that this business is focused on manufacturing on a large scale, which requires a large number of workers. As of 2020, the number of employees was 70,757 (according to Wikipedia), and their number has since increased significantly, following the pace of development of the company in 2021. Today, the bulk of Tesla's employees are located in the United States, where the company's three operating factories are located, namely the factories in Fremont, Nevada, and New York. Soon, the company will open up employment opportunities for thousands of new employees, as its massive Giga Texas will begin operations by the end of 2021, with beginning mass production as early as 2022.

Also, a large number of Tesla employees are located in China, where its manufacturing plant—Giga Shanghai—operates. There the company is constantly recruiting new employees, as it develops its business in various directions.

Until the end of 2021, Tesla alone has the potential to hire thousands of employees, as a new factory will open not only in the U.S. but also in Germany. An automobile and battery factory are expected to operate at Giga Berlin, which will open thousands of jobs in the first phase of expansion alone.

Other of Musk’s companies have a more modest number of employees, however it is only a matter of time before the numbers grow. As of February 2021, SpaceX had over 9,500 employees (according to SpaceX Response DOJ Hiring Subpoena). Nevertheless, the company continues its development, which requires a large number of employees, and which can almost certainly mean that their number has increased compared to February 2021. Neuralink, OpenAI and The Boring Company are also fast-growing companies that are constantly expanding the number of employees.

It should be kept in mind that speaking of 110,000 employees, Musk meant only those who directly work at his companies. Hundreds of thousands of additional jobs have been created by his companies via the supply chains, which are not counted here.
