Model Y delivery times in the US continue to increase due to high demand. When ordering now, Model Y Long Range will be delivered in 6-15 weeks, i.e. in April-June.
Tesla Model Y continues to be popular in the US. In mid-January, the company significantly reduced the purchase price, which stimulated a huge wave of demand and increased delivery times. Already at the end of January, Tesla raised the price of the popular Model Y Long Range AWD by $500 to better match this. In early February, the Treasury expanded the classification by using the Environmental Protection Agency's public-oriented Fuel Economy Labeling standard rather than the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE). As a result, a range of compact SUVs, including the Model Y in all variants, became available for the $7,500 US IRA EV credit, allowing Tesla to increase the price of the vehicle again.
Currently, the estimated delivery date for the Tesla Model Y Long Range is April-June, i.e., in 6-15 weeks. This is an increase of 4 weeks, compared with the delivery time in March-May earlier. The availability of all Model Y variants for the IRA credit in the US has given Tesla the opportunity to increase the price of its SUVs to boost margins, something it has done a few times in recent weeks. If demand continues to grow, then the company will be able to continue to increase the price.
