Tesla Cybertruck & GMC Hummer EV Side by Side Specs & Price Comparison

Tesla Cybertruck & GMC Hummer EV Side by Side Specs & Price Comparison

Tesla Cybertruck was unveiled at the Tesla Design Studio in Los Angeles on November 21, 2019. Cybertruck is one of the most highly anticipated models from Tesla, and first deliveries are expected in 2021.

Recently, GMC announced the Hummer EV price and specs through its official website. Since the Hummer EV falls into the same category as the Tesla Cybertruck, let's do the side by side comparison with all trims, prices, and specifications.

Since the lowest trim of the Hummer EV2 and EV2X are both equipped with 2 motors, we compare these with the Tesla Cybertruck Dual Motor AWD model. Though it's worth noting, a Single Motor RWD Cybertruck model is available for order for just $39,900, which still matches the 250+ miles of range of the $79,995 entry-level Hummer EV2.

GMC Hummer EV2 (2 motors)

TORQUE:  7,400 LB-FT

Range:  250+ MILES

Price: Starts at $79,995

Expected Delivery: Spring 2024

GMC Hummer EV2X (2 motors)

TORQUE:  7,400 LB-FT

Range:  300+ MILES

Price: Starts at $89,995

Expected Delivery: Spring 2023

Tesla Cybertruck Dual Motor (2 motors)

TOWING CAPACITY:  10,000+ LBS

Range: 300+ MILES

Price: Starts at $49,900

Expected Delivery: Late 2021

From the first side by side comparison, it's clear that Tesla Cybertruck Dual Motor AWD leads with torque power, and is also the best value in per mile range. Tesla Cybertruck Dual Motor's starting price is $30-$40K less than the Hummer EV 2 motors, and has the expected delivery date is two years sooner.

Now it's time to do a 3-motor version comparison from both companies.

GMC Hummer EV3X (3 motors)

TORQUE:  9,500 LB-FT

Range:  300+ MILES

Price: Starts at $99,995

Expected Delivery: Fall 2022

GMC Hummer EV EDITION 1 (3 motors)

TORQUE: 11,500 LB-FT

Range:  350+ MILES

Price: Starts at $112,595

Expected Delivery: Fall 2021

Tesla Cybertruck Tri Motor (3 motors)

TOWING CAPACITY:  14,000+ LBS

Range: 500+ MILES

Price: Starting $69,900

Expected Delivery: Late 2021

As I write this comparison article, I'm trying to be as objective as possible. But whether from a specification or pricing standpoint, Tesla Cybertruck absolutely offers the best bang for your buck, in both the Dual Motor and Tri Motor AWD variants. Meanwhile, this side-by-side breakdown again demonstrates Tesla's continued, commanding lead in battery technology.
